Why We Love It

When the handle alone is a "three-strand braid," it becomes this endearing. The bags, braided one by one by artisans at a town workshop in Takashima, Shiga, are not only adorable in design but also have a wonderful grip that settles into the hand. True to the brand name "I want to make it cloth," the making that draws on the texture of materials carries a warmth you don't feel in mass-produced goods.

PROFILE About the Company / Workshop

Touching the nature, culture and personal stories of Lake Biwa, we wanted to deliver "sparks" that let all sorts of things "connect." A bag and accessories brand born from that thought.

Because artisans produce in small batches at a small workshop, each item is generally offered as a "pre-order." Once the cap for a given round is reached, that round's order intake is closed.

A braided design

A signature braided motif on handles and elsewhere. A presence that quietly accompanies daily life.

A pre-order sales style

Artisans produce one piece at a time. Order intake closes once the cap is reached.

Lake Biwa × materials

Locally rooted materials, such as fabric using "ashi washi yarn" (reed paper yarn).
