Askal Kaban Kobo

Askal Kaban Kobo is based in Ichinomiya, Aichi. The workshop started as a sole proprietorship in 2010, opened a Rakuten shop in October 2010, and incorporated as Askal Kaban Kobo Co., Ltd. in 2014. It is led by Tasuke Ohashi and has 29 employees, growing from bag making into a workshop that connects memories with everyday life.

The randoseru remake service began in 2017. Each bag is carefully dismantled, reusable leather and hardware are selected, and the best parts are crafted into small goods such as wallets, key cases, and pass cases. They accept a wide range of materials — synthetic leather, genuine leather, cordovan, and other man-made leathers — and do not restrict you to a particular brand.

Signature menus include the Wallet Set and the Small-Goods Set. In 2018, the service expanded by adding "wallets" as a core item within the remake lineup. Alongside randoseru remakes, the workshop also makes Italian-leather small goods such as business card holders and money clips, so you can choose items that match how you carry and use them.

To reach families nationwide, Askal accepts orders through Rakuten and Yahoo! Shopping, and also offers programs such as furusato nozei return gifts and limited-time department-store reception. They registered March 15 as "Randoseru Remake Day" with the Japan Anniversary Association. No limits on material or brand

Askal accepts many randoseru materials — synthetic leather, genuine leather, cordovan, and more — and you can send bags from any maker. The goal is simple: keep the look and feel of the original, then carry it as a wallet, key case, or other daily tool.

Sets that fit your story

The Wallet Set lets you choose combinations such as a wallet, a case, and a small item — often making great use of original details like the shoulder strap. The Small-Goods Set is designed for sharing, so family members can each keep a piece of the memory.
