Even in the sea of search results, we gently guide visitors straight to makers’ official websites and
stores.
Purpose of this site
MADE in JAPAN.jp exists to directly connect people who are looking for Japanese-made products with companies
that create them – via their official sites, online shops, and social media.
We address the frustration of “I want Japanese-made, but I can’t find it in stores or search results,”
and the makers’ side issues like “We want to reach people who care about Japanese-made, but our sales channels
and digital know-how are limited.”

MADE in JAPAN.jp is a discovery gateway dedicated only to Japanese-made products.
We link visitors straight to official sites, online shops, social channels and contact forms, and we
do not charge listing fees.
We conduct on-site or online interviews and photo shoots, then introduce each maker on a dedicated page with
fact-based, honest editing.
In the future, we plan optional BtoC/BtoB e-commerce support and multilingual expansion (including English).
Answers to common concerns
Is there any catch behind “free”?
We do not charge listing fees. Only if you choose optional services in the future—such as EC operations or order handling—will we discuss separate fees or actual costs with you.
I don't have a website. Can I still be listed?
Yes, it is possible. If you also want to have your own website, we have a plan to create one at a low price along with the interview.
Can you link directly to our own EC or other platforms?
Of course. Our role is to provide the shortest, most direct route. We prioritise linking to official primary information, including your own EC.
We are worried about the burden of interviews and photo shoots.
We can handle both on-site and online interviews. If shooting is difficult, we can work with photos you provide. We handle writing and editing, and always share drafts for your review and approval.
What if there are mistakes or updates in the information?
We can update your page at any time after publication, and we respond quickly to urgent correction requests.
When will English support and EC features start?
Multilingual support is being expanded step by step. EC features will be introduced in stages for participating makers who wish to use them, and we will share the timeline with you individually.
What are your listing criteria?
We look mainly at whether products are made in Japan, whether information can be shared on a fact-based basis, and whether there is care for safety and reliability—along with local character, uniqueness and continuity.

Listings for recruitment & succession
To connect workshops facing a lack of successors with people who want to work in Japanese craftsmanship, we also share information on recruitment, apprenticeships and short-term internships. We aim to make decision-making as easy as possible by clearly describing working styles, required skills, learning opportunities and living conditions.
