MADE in JAPAN.JP is an independent media introducing Japanese products — we are not a manufacturer or an official brand site. If you are looking to source, OEM, import, wholesale or distribute any of the makers featured here, tell us what you need and we can put you in touch with them directly. We read and negotiate in Japanese, which is usually the part that stops these conversations.
Our fee comes from you, never from the maker.
We charge the overseas buyer. We never take a cut out of the Japanese maker's price. A weak yen has already made their work cheap to the rest of the world, and these workshops are how the craft survives — once a technique stops being passed on, it does not come back. So the maker's quote is the maker's quote, and we have no incentive to push volume onto a workshop that does not want it. The makers know it, which is precisely why they take our calls.
What we do
What we do not do
Not sure what to ask for yet? Read Sourcing from Japan: How to Work With Japanese Makers first — it covers what wholesale, private label and full OEM each actually require, and the five mistakes that stall most enquiries.
The more specific you are, the faster we can move. Tell us the maker or product, the type of arrangement (wholesale, private label, OEM, distribution), an indicative first-order quantity even if provisional, and where you intend to sell. If you already know your target price, say so — it is easier to tell you early whether it is realistic than to discover it three emails in.
