Located just north of Tokyo, Saitama is a tea-producing area symbolized by Sayama tea, and a land alive with the streetscapes of Koedo Kawagoe and crafts like textiles, dolls, and Paulownia tansu (cabinetry). It's also an area where you can casually incorporate domestic items into daily tea time, casual wear, home storage, and decoration. On this page, we introduce Saitama-born tea, sweets, tableware, textiles, and small crafts.
Sayama tea is characterized by a rich flavor, so much so that it's said "the best taste is found in Sayama." We will introduce various options, from daily teabags to gifts, focusing on tea-field-direct brands and teas particular about blending and roasting.
In Kawagoe, where warehouse streetscapes remain, food brands blending the old and the new have grown, such as sweet potato snacks, Japanese sweets, and local bakeries. Alongside this, we will also introduce creators of small crafts like glass, woodwork, and daily sundries.
Saitama also has a culture of long-lasting furniture and fabrics, such as Kasukabe Paulownia tansu, Iwatsuki dolls, and textiles from Chichibu and Hanyu. Through storage furniture, textiles, and small items made in sizes and designs fitting for modern life, we will propose calm everyday setups.
