JA Hyuga

JA Miyazaki Hyuga Regional Headquarters is a community-oriented agricultural cooperative covering one city, two towns, and two villages: Hyuga City, Kadogawa Town, Misato Town, Morotsuka Village, and Shiiba Village. This vast region is blessed with diverse natural environments, from the coastline facing the Hyuga Sea to the Kyushu Mountains with abundant water sources.

The JA aims to maximize these regional resources and contribute to the improvement of agricultural productivity, the living standards of cooperative members, and the development of the local community. Key crops include the nationally recognized "Taiyo no Tamago" mango brand, the highly fragrant Hebesu citrus, and high-quality "Himuka Rice."

The cooperative is particularly focused on connecting producers and consumers, delivering seasonal ingredients from Hyuga directly from the source through its online shop and direct sales stores ("Hasaikan"). Furthermore, it operates welfare services to meet local needs for care and support, and provides essential life infrastructure (LPG, gas stations, funeral services, etc.), promoting community contribution activities based on the philosophy of "Symbiosis."

Diverse Specialty Products and Promotion of "Local Production for Local Consumption"

The Hyuga region oversees a vast area from the coastal area facing the Hyuga Sea to the Kyushu Mountains. It handles a wide range of specialty products, from agricultural and livestock items like mangoes ("Taiyo no Tamago"), tomatoes, and Miyazaki Beef, to processed goods and forestry products like Hebesu citrus, Hyuga Binchotan charcoal, and Asa-iro Black Tea. Local production for local consumption is promoted primarily through four direct sales outlets ("Hasaikan") within the area.

Hyuga Binchotan: One of the Three Great Binchotan Charcoals of Japan

Hyuga Binchotan is counted as one of the three major Binchotan charcoals in Japan. It is highly evaluated by restaurants and easy for beginners to use due to its properties: easy to ignite and less prone to bursting. It is an important local specialty utilizing regional forest resources.

Community Building Based on "Symbiosis" Rooted in the Region

In addition to finance, mutual aid, and agricultural guidance, the cooperative provides comprehensive services that support the daily lives of local residents, including welfare services (home care support, home-visit care, day service) and life-related businesses (LPG supply, direct sales, funeral services). This effort contributes to the community with "Symbiosis" as its core philosophy.
