Benefitea was born in Shizuoka City in 2015 as a bottle tea manufacturer aiming for "tea that is expensive but truly valuable." Facing the challenges of price stagnation and decreasing consumption of Shizuoka tea, from the question "how can we raise the value of tea leaves themselves and how to convey it" — the company took on the challenge of a new form: premium bottled tea.

In the proprietary "Cold Extraction Method®," the aroma and umami are maximally drawn out with just tea leaves and water, bottled under special temperature and hygiene management. In sparkling tea combined with carbonation, the inherent aroma of the tea leaves is enhanced by the presentation of bubbles — also gaining evaluation as a "non-alcoholic pairing drink" that stands alongside wine and champagne.

Bottled tea and sparkling tea include many products born from joint development with tea farmers and tea masters in Shizuoka City, as well as collaborations with various production areas such as Makinohara and Ryokouchi. While translating the individuality of each tea production area into label design and flavor, the diverse lineup is developed. Adoption at department stores including Mitsukoshi Isetan, and at hotels and restaurants, is also increasing.

Furthermore, applications to other genres such as processed foods containing premium tea leaves and cola, as well as active participation in regionally born food culture projects such as the Fujinokuni "Umai Meshi TAXI Distribution" project. With the mission of "connecting tea production areas and people's lives through bottled tea," the company will continue to pursue the new possibilities of Japanese tea.

Bottled teas — such as sparkling tea using Kawane tea — were adopted as serving teas at the G7 Hiroshima Summit, gaining evaluation on the international stage. Support is also spreading in scenes such as hotel welcome drinks, department store gifts, and hand souvenirs.
