Hishinuma Orchard
Raising fruits for over 70 years. A fruit orchard delivering cherries, peaches, and apples producing-region direct from the fields of Iizaka, Fukushima.
"Hishinuma Orchard" in Iizaka-cho, Fukushima City — a fruit orchard that has raised cherries, peaches, and apples across three generations. Starting from mountain fields, then after struggles with wildlife, now based on the current flatland — under the thought "trees, leaves, and soil are the stars" — committed to cultivation leveraging the power of nature. Fruits measured and sorted for sugar content one by one with optical sensor sorters are shipped seasonally producing-region-direct nationwide.
Why We Love It
A master who says "trees, leaves, and soil are the stars" — a fruit orchard facing fruits for over 70 years. Peaches and apples raised in Iizaka have sugar content strictly checked by optical sensor sorters — no variation in sweetness. "Nomu Momo" — like squeezing ripe peaches as-is — and Sun Fuji full of honey — capturing the "most delicious moment" of each season without missing — an orchard irresistible to Fukushima fruit lovers.
PROFILE About the Company / Workshop
Hishinuma Orchard's beginning goes back to when representative Mr. Kenichi Hishinuma's grandfather cleared mountain fields in Iizaka-cho, Fukushima after the war. Mr. Kenichi — after graduating from agricultural school — has stood in the fields as a specialized farmer since age 20 — walking devoted to fruit tree cultivation to today.
In the mountain fields at the time of clearing — struggles with wildlife like rabbits, antelopes, bears, monkeys and pests continued — apples and peaches didn't bear fruit as intended. After trial and error — the decision to leave the mountain farmland and move to the current flatland — became a turning point connecting to today.
Eventually, also engaging in face-to-face sales at Iizaka Onsen shopping streets and nationwide mail-order — while directly hearing consumer voices — refining cultivation, variety composition, and product making. Engaging in both "production" and "sales" from early on — became Hishinuma Orchard's strength.
Currently — in addition to cherries, peaches, and apples — also developing processed products like apple juice, "Nomu Momo," and tree-ripened apple honey. Of course peace of mind and safety — daily pursuing how to bring out the original deliciousness of fruits — continuing to deliver seasonal bounty from Fukushima's fields.

The cultivation philosophy "trees, leaves, and soil are the stars"
Representative Mr. Kenichi Hishinuma says they are "assistants to hard-working trees and leaves." While maximally leveraging the power of sun, water, and soil — carefully supporting so trees can raise fruits without strain — through care like pruning, bud thinning, and fruit thinning.
Checking sugar content per piece with optical sensor sorters
Cherries and apples — sugar content measured with optical sensor sorters. Only those meeting standard values are box-packed as premium products — sorted by class and shipped. The stable flavor with sweetness variation suppressed — generating many repeaters.
