clocomi
A textile brand designing "connections" starting from cloth — with heart-fluttering Banshu-ori.
"clocomi" is a textile brand born in the Banshu-ori producing region of Taka-gun, Hyogo Prefecture. Centered on yarn-dyed Banshu-ori fabric woven at its own factory, the brand is an online store sharing items that flutter the heart in daily life — fabric, gauze towels, handkerchiefs, production kits, tableware. Through cloth as a medium, designing "connections" with people, time, and nature — shaping new, interesting, and helpful-to-someone things.
Why We Love It
A worldview that overturns the image of "Banshu-ori = plain shirt fabric" with pop and colorful — your heart flutters! The yarn-dyed fabric woven at the in-house factory is also charming — with front and back showing different expressions. Beyond cuteness as fabric goods like handkerchiefs and bags, for handmade lovers — undoubtedly a textile brand that stirs creative motivation.
PROFILE About the Company / Workshop
clocomi, which started from a producing-region weaving factory. At the base is the wish "to create communication where feelings pass through cloth." Multiplying Banshu-ori history, in-house factory technology, and designer sensibility — continuing to propose textiles that accompany daily life.
clocomi was born as a brand of Kondo Factory Co., Ltd. — with roots in "Kondo Orifu," a Banshu-ori factory founded in 1961. With third-generation Yoshiki Kondo and his designer brother Makoto at the center, leveraging techniques cultivated in the producing region and design power, the brand develops original textiles and products.
The brand name "clocomi" contains the wish to "nurture communication with users through cloth (cross)." People who pick up the cloth, those who tailor something with that cloth, and those who wear or use it — at every place the cloth passes through, the brand aims for design where small stories and connections are born.
Yarn-dyed Banshu-ori — dyeing yarn first then weaving — is characterized by color-fade resistance and patterns themselves being woven into the fabric structure. At clocomi, leveraging that characteristic, the brand plans diverse texture fabrics — three-dimensional Jacquard, gauze with good skin-touch, light lawn. From the fabric stage, design looks ahead to use scenes and finished imagery.
Beyond just fabric sales, the company also plans and develops in-house — 3-layer gauze towel "Konayuki Towel," handkerchiefs, stoles, tableware, and other cloth-related daily life items. At the online store "clocomi" and the physical store, limited items not posted online and remnants also line up — becoming a place where cloth lovers and craftsmanship lovers gather.
In the "Fanfare" series for entrance-school preparation, the brand develops production kits for lesson bags, lunch bags, and more. Pattern-free and with sewing lines — a design where handicraft beginners can also engage with peace of mind. Linking with the online store, the physical store also opens a sewing school — continuing to share "the joy of making" from the producing region.
A textile brand born from the Banshu-ori producing region of Taka-cho
clocomi is the original brand of Kondo Factory Co., Ltd. in Taka-cho, Hyogo Prefecture — the Banshu-ori producing region. Precisely because it's a brand born from a weaving mill inheriting yarn-dyed weaving techniques, the company integrally performs from fabric making to product development — delivering reliable quality unique to the producing region and cloth with a story.
Original patterns by in-house Banshu-ori factory and Jacquard looms
Committed to "yarn-dyeing" — dyeing yarn first then weaving — the in-house factory also handles complex pattern expression leveraging Jacquard looms. By precisely designing colors and weave structure, the factory produces fabric strong against washing and with three-dimensional nuance.
"Delivering heart-fluttering design"
Capturing not just visual cuteness but functionality, usability, and even background thinking as design — the brand proposes the "heart-fluttering" experience through fabric and items. Through pattern series and item series, the brand brings small uplifts to daily life.
PARALLEL TONE and Fanfare kits supporting "the joy of making"
The in-house fabric brand "PARALLEL TONE" original textiles, and the "Fanfare" entrance-school kits — pattern-free and with sewing lines, friendly to handicraft beginners — the lineup supporting "wanting to make" is also rich. Designing creative time expanding from cloth.
Daily standard items also developed — gauze towels and handkerchiefs
Daily standards you want to continue using are also lineup — fluffy 3-layer gauze "Konayuki Towel," handkerchiefs leveraging Banshu-ori texture, stoles. Craftsmanship aiming for gentle skin-touch also for babies and sensitive-skin people is highly evaluated.
