KAGAMI CRYSTAL (カガミクリスタル)
Japan's finest crystal glass — on the tables of the Imperial Household since 1934.
Founded in 1934 as Japan's first company specializing exclusively in crystal glassware, KAGAMI CRYSTAL produces premium crystal glass at its own factory in Ryugasaki, Ibaraki. Thanks to its superb clarity, brilliant sparkle, and elegant resonance, KAGAMI's glassware has long been chosen for official banquets at the Imperial Household Agency, the Prime Minister's Official Residence, the State Guesthouse, and Japanese embassies worldwide. Combining traditional Edo Kiriko cutting, graveur engraving, and contemporary design, KAGAMI offers a full range of glassware for both special occasions and daily enjoyment.
PROFILE Company & Brand Story
KAGAMI CRYSTAL was founded in 1934 as Japan's first company devoted entirely to the production of fine crystal glass. Every stage of production — from raw material blending and melting, through forming, cutting, and polishing — is carried out by skilled artisans at KAGAMI's own factory in Ryugasaki, Ibaraki, under consistent quality control.
The brand's most prestigious credential is its longstanding supply to Japan's most formal dining tables. KAGAMI glassware has been chosen for official state banquets at the Imperial Household Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the State Guesthouse (Akasaka Palace), and the Prime Minister's Official Residence — tables where guests have included heads of state and royalty from around the world.
KAGAMI's craft extends across several distinct collections. Edo Kiriko — the traditional Tokyo cutting technique recognized as a traditional craft — applies intricate geometric patterns cut by hand into the crystal surface. Graveur engraving creates three-dimensional pictorial designs. The Royal Collection traces its origins to pieces presented to the Imperial Household, available now as sake cups, tumblers, and decorative pieces.
KAGAMI operates directly managed retail spaces in Ginza, at Palace Hotel Tokyo in Marunouchi, and at the headquarters factory in Ibaraki, where the KAGAMI Memorial Museum displays the history and craft of Japanese crystal making. Beyond retail, KAGAMI has an extensive track record of bespoke and commemorative crystal — including luxury perfume bottles for Shiseido and whisky decanters for Suntory.
