An apple orchard continuing since the great-grandfather's generation — in the mountains of Shimo-Okada, Okada, Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture. Sloped fields, clay soil, large temperature differences unique to the basin, and long sunshine hours overlap — bearing fragrant and sweet apples.

From Tokyo office worker to Shinshu apple farmer

Farm owner Kensuke Kawabe — once worked in Tokyo as a system engineer. In 2016 — to inherit the apple orchard of his wife Asuka's grandfather — relocated to Matsumoto with family — starting without farming experience. While repeating trial and error — has polished cultivation techniques aiming for "delicious apples that can be eaten with peace of mind."

Direct sales, lodging, and apple pie workshop expanding around apples

Starting from the field's unmanned direct sales shop — gradually expanding activities: the apple tree owner program, the guesthouse "Shinshu Yokoya Farm — Kura" renovated from a storehouse near the apple field, and further the apple pie workshop opened next to the apple field. Not only apples themselves — but a big theme of Yokoya Farm is having visitors enjoy including apple scenery and time.
