Iijima Orchard is an apple farm with a direct outlet along Route 18 "Apple Line" — in the northern part of Nagano City, Nagano Prefecture. Inheriting the direct outlet continuing from the grandparents' generation, the family handles — centered on 10 varieties of apples and 2 varieties of apricot — processed goods like apple juice and apple/apricot jam. Under the thought "Shinshu-grown seasonal fruit, delivered to the table with peace of mind," the farm delivers fruits committed to harvest timing and safety — through direct sales, apple picking, and shipping.
Why We Love It
Located at the northern end of Nagano's "Apple Line" — the "last shop." Of course apples are delicious — but actually a master of "apricots" too! Including the rare "Harcot" you can eat raw — early summer flavors here are also a unique enjoyment. The direct outlet rebuilt from typhoon damage has warm air unique to family management — with handmade jams and juice concentrating fruit umami lined up.
PROFILE About the Company / Workshop
Iijima Orchard is a family-managed orchard growing apples and apricots in fields spreading across Omachi district, northern Nagano City. The beginning was when grandparents set up a small direct outlet along the road around when Route 18 opened — and since then, has walked together with the Apple Line known as a Shinshu apple producing region.
Current farm owner Mr. Motohiro Iijima has inherited his grandparents' work for about 20 years. Facing the field through the year from spring flower season to pruning, fruit thinning, and harvest — engaging with apples under the thought "Shinshu-grown seasonal fruit, delivered to the table with peace of mind."
At the direct outlet, the appeal is being able to sell while directly conveying that year's yield and harvest status. From carefully selected gift apples to "value items" with slight scratches or color unevenness, the orchard proposes fruits matched to use.
In recent years, also putting effort into processing 100% apple juice and additive-free jams — devising so fruit flavors can be enjoyed year-round. While also accepting shipping and gift consultations, the orchard bears the role of being the northern gateway of the Apple Line — connecting the region with visitors.

The current farm owner inherited and continues for about 20 years — the direct outlet that grandparents started with the opening of Route 18. While the family protects the fields inherited generation to generation, the orchard integrally performs from soil making to harvest and shipping.
10 apple varieties and 2 apricot varieties — enjoying flavor differences with small-quantity multi-variety
In addition to Shinshu original varieties — Akibae, Shinano Sweet, Shinano Gold, Shinano Hoppe, Sun Fuji — including Gunma Meigetsu and Haruka, 10 varieties of apples are cultivated. Plus 2 apricot varieties — Shinzanmaru and Heiwa — are also grown, letting you enjoy seasonal flavor differences.
100% apple juice and additive-free handmade processed goods
Additive-free straight juice pressed only from fully ripe apples, and additive-free jams using apples and apricots, are also popular items. With simple blending of just sugar and lemon added — the orchard performs processed-goods making that leverages fruit's natural aroma and sweetness.
