HORIGUCHI KIRIKO is an Edo Kiriko glass brand based in Edogawa, Tokyo. It was founded in 2008 by Toru Horiguchi as the successor to the Shuseki lineage of cut glass craftsmen. The origins of Edo Kiriko date back to the late Edo period, when glass-cutting techniques using abrasive powders were introduced to Edo. Over time, the craft evolved in Tokyo and in 2002 Edo Kiriko was officially designated as a Traditional Craft by the Japanese government.
The lineage that would become HORIGUCHI KIRIKO began in 1921, when the first Shuseki, Ichio Horiguchi, began training in glass cutting and later founded Horiguchi Glass. The techniques and spirit of the craft were passed down to the second Shuseki, Tomio Suda, and then to Toru Horiguchi, who became the third Shuseki.
In 2008 Toru Horiguchi established HORIGUCHI KIRIKO as an independent brand. In addition to producing Edo Kiriko glassware, he has been active in exhibitions and collaborative projects, from tableware design to lighting fixtures and package design for leading companies.

HORIGUCHI KIRIKO traces its origins to Horiguchi Glass, founded in 1921 by the first Shuseki, Ichio Horiguchi. In 2008 Toru Horiguchi, who had studied under the second Shuseki, Tomio Suda, established HORIGUCHI KIRIKO as an independent studio brand. In 2012 the company was reorganized as HORIGUCHI KIRIKO INC.
