PROFILE About the Company / Workshop

Mie Prefecture — known as a tea region alongside Shizuoka and Uji. Matsusaka City Iinan-cho Kahada Gorge — located inland — is nature-rich land surrounded by clear streams and mountains. Here — Shinryoku Sabo has continued its work as a tea farmer. Cool climate and large day-night temperature differences — are the optimal conditions to grow tea leaves packed with umami and aroma. In the tea field spreading in front of the shop — today as well — staff carefully face field work while confirming each leaf's condition.

In 1999 — from the thought of regional tea farmers wanting "to leave the tea industry and this scenery for the future" — established Shinryoku Sabo as an agricultural production corporation. In 2001 — completed a 200kg-line tea processing factory — and in 2004 — opened the new Iinan main store with an adjoining Japanese tea cafe. Since then — through new building construction and Tsu branch opening — while arranging a system cooperating field, factory, and store — advancing infrastructure building to deliver Ise tea's appeal to more people.

Sincere stance toward tea making and region-rooted activities are also evaluated at contests and certification systems. Numerous track records — Emperor's Cup at Agriculture Festival Regional Specialty Division, Mie Brand certification, Minister of Agriculture Awards at Ise Tea and Kansai Tea Contests, and JGAP and ASIAGAP acquisition — are the result of the accumulation of each work in the field, and detailed ingenuity in tea processing and blending.

On the other hand — Shinryoku Sabo thinks "tea comes to life precisely in daily life." At the Iinan main store's Japanese tea cafe — you can easily enjoy a cup brewed in a kyusu while viewing a Japanese garden. Holding tea classes and workshops visiting prefectural offices, schools, nursing homes, and workplaces — conveying ways to brew and taste tea. Also at venues outside the prefecture — Mie Terrace in Nihonbashi, Tokyo, department store event spaces, art shop mikke, and Ise Shima Marche — transmitting Ise tea's appeal.

Recently — through cooperation with "mirume Shinryoku Sabo" — born in the Endoji area of Nagoya — also challenging new ways to enjoy Ise tea. Through roasting experiences, taste comparisons, latte art and tasting events, and crowdfunding — with the stance of "fun over correctness" — spreading the culture of casually enjoying Japanese tea. Delivering the story of one tea leaf starting from soil-making — along with a daily cup. That is the brand story Shinryoku Sabo cherishes.
