Why We Love It

A specialty shop for "Gifu wagasa," nurtured along the Nagara River basin. The curation that proposes wagasa not as something to "display" but as something to "use" is lovely. The distinctive "basa" sound when you open it, the soft light through translucent washi paper, and the scent of the oil — once you know the luxury of enjoying rain with all five senses, rainy days become something to look forward to. There are also plenty of modern designs that make you want to carry them with Western clothes too, not just kimono.
