Japanese craftsmanship meets modern style. World-renowned eyewear from Sabae.|KANEKO OPTICAL

Frames polished by hand by craftsmen fit gently as if sticking to the skin.
Classic but not old-fashioned.
It brings out the individuality of the wearer and adds intelligence and sex appeal.

Fits your face the moment you put it on

Founded in 1958 in Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture, the holy land of eyeglasses. "Kaneko Optical" started as a simple eyewear wholesaler, but is now one of the few eyewear manufacturers in Japan that handles everything from planning and design to manufacturing and sales in-house. While producing artisan series such as "Taihachiro Kinsei," their own brand "Kaneko Optical" reconstructs vintage styles in a modern way. The superb comfort that knows the Japanese bone structure inside out, and the high-quality texture woven by celluloid and titanium, have sublimated glasses from "vision correction devices" to "fashion items."

KANEKO OPTICAL

Why "KANEKO OPTICAL" is Chosen | 3 Reasons

01

Rare Material "Celluloid"

Synonymous with Kaneko Optical is "Celluloid," a material that used to be the mainstream of glasses. It is hard, scratch-resistant, and has a unique beautiful gloss, but because it is difficult to process and flammable, the number of manufacturers handling it has decreased drastically. The deep gloss created by hand polishing by craftsmen is truly a craft.

02

"Comfort" that fits Japanese people

Glasses from Western brands often have low nose pads and hit the cheeks, but Kaneko Optical is designed to fit the Japanese bone structure. In particular, the "Asian Fit" nose pads and the curve of the temple that wraps around the head do not cause stress even when worn for a long time.

03

Fusion of Tradition and Modern "KV Series"

The popular line "KV (Kaneko Vintage)" incorporates size and coloring that fits modern fashion while based on good old Japanese glasses. It features an intelligent and sophisticated design, such as combination frames combining titanium and plastic.

Editor's Note

📝 User Perspective

The charm of Kaneko Optical is, after all, the beauty of "Celluloid." The glossy and deep color like wetness, which is not found in general plastic (acetate), makes you feel attached as you use it. Also, the abundance of collaboration models is a point. Especially, bespoke items for select shops such as United Arrows have designs that suppress trends while maintaining Kaneko Optical quality, and are highly recommended as the first pair.
