Why We Love It

Known as one of Japan's three great delicious chickens, Hinai Jidori has a satisfying, full-bodied red meat that grows more flavorful the more you chew. With kiritanpo hot pot sets that bring out the umami in a deeply Akita way, plus concentrated soup and chicken oil to make ramen at home taste like a specialty shop, even a beginner can enjoy the depth of this brand. The producer also handles everything from raising to processing in-house, so you can feel the dedication directly through every package.

PROFILE About the Company / Workshop

The origin of Honke Hinai Jidori traces back to 1982, when the second-generation president returned to his hometown Akita to take over the family poultry business and, together with Hinai-machi (now Odate City) and the local agricultural cooperative, launched a production committee — taking on the challenge of building the system to establish the Hinai Jidori brand. From an era when name recognition was by no means high, by holding dialogues with producers and stakeholders, the brand "Akita Hinai Jidori" was spread nationwide.

Today, the company continues raising based on free-range and open-air principles in pastures surrounded by the abundant nature of Hinai-machi. By following its own standards that finely define raising days, density, raising methods, and feed composition, it preserves the meat quality of Hinai Jidori — strongly red, with depth and aroma spreading the more you chew.

In online sales, the lineup includes hot pot sets and processed foods where you can fully enjoy the umami of Hinai Jidori — such as kiritanpo hot pot, mizutaki, salt chanko, shabu-shabu, and oyakodon. Combined with base items such as concentrated soup, straight soup, and chicken oil, you can enjoy specialty-shop flavor at home.

On the other hand, the company also develops many products for professionals — including dressed meat, gutted whole chicken, mince, chicken wings, skewered products, carcasses, and commercial soup — gaining strong trust from yakitori restaurants, ramen shops, and dining establishments nationwide. With traceability where the producer's face is visible and stable supply capability, the company continues to deliver the appeal of Hinai Jidori to both food-industry sites and home dining tables.

A core producer of the Akita Hinai Jidori brand

Working with Hinai-machi (now Odate City) and the local agricultural cooperative, Honke Hinai Jidori has been involved in the branding of Hinai Jidori from the early stages — including the launch of production committees and processing plant development. With an integrated system from production to processing and sales, the company continues stable quality and supply.

Free-range and open-air raising in vast nature

Securing 1,500 m² of pasture per 1,000 birds, and raising free-range or open-air after 28 days for relaxed living. The company imposes on itself production and management standards stricter than national standards — including raising days, density, and feed composition — to raise Hinai Jidori with good feathering and rich umami.

Wide product range from household to professional use

In addition to household products such as frozen single-bird sets, hot pot sets, concentrated soup, straight soup, and chicken oil, the lineup for restaurants is also substantial — including dressed meat, gutted whole chicken, mince, skewered products, carcasses, and commercial soup. A Hinai Jidori brand chosen by chefs nationwide.
