HOKUA
From the casting town of Takaoka — aluminum pots and frying pans that make daily kitchens lighter.
Hokuriku Aluminum is a long-established maker that has continued producing aluminum cookware for about 90 years in Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture. Equipped with both casting and pressing technologies at its in-house factory, it integrally produces frying pans, pots, pressure cookers, and even professional commercial cookware. Combining lightness, good heat transfer, and durability — the brand delivers "kitchen tools you want to use every day" to Japanese daily life.
Why We Love It
A pioneer of aluminum cookware continuing for over 90 years in Takaoka — the casting town. A heavy-hitter with high share of commercial pots loved by professional chefs. Especially recommended is the cast-construction frying pan. Heat conducts evenly with no unevenness through ingredients — yet surprisingly light! The maker's gentleness of "tools you use every day should be stress-free" boosts the taste of your cooking.
PROFILE About the Company / Workshop
The roots of Hokuriku Aluminum lie in aluminum cast cookware making in Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture — known as the casting town. Starting with prewar hagama rice cookers, the brand began with tools supporting cooking on traditional stoves. Even before kitchen appliances became widespread, the brand has a history of continuing to make "tools around fire" close to daily life.
Subsequently, while polishing aluminum pressing and surface treatment technologies, the brand expanded its field beyond pots and frying pans to construction materials and industrial products. Even today, by integrally performing casting, pressing, processing, and assembly at the factory attached to its headquarters, the brand realizes high quality management and stable supply.
For HOKUA brand houseware, the brand cherishes "being tools truly useful for people who cook every day, connected to deliciousness." With light, easy-to-handle, non-stick coating and thickness design with little heat unevenness — many series aim for professional-like finishes even on household stoves.
In recent years, from environmentally considerate aluminum recycling to creating workplaces where women can thrive — Hokuriku Aluminum also works on sustainable society building from the production site. The brand will continue to deliver the techniques and sensibility polished in Takaoka, the casting town, to Japanese dining tables.
About 90 years of aluminum technology nurtured in Takaoka — the casting town
Founded in 1930. As one of the few aluminum product manufacturers that handles both casting and pressing in-house, the company has widely developed everything from kitchen tools starting with hagama rice cookers to construction materials and industrial products. That technological accumulation supports the performance of the current HOKUA brand pots and frying pans.
Aluminum casting combining lightness and good heat transfer
While leveraging aluminum's "lightness" and "good heat conductivity," through ingenuity in thickness and shape — the brand realizes cookware that conducts heat evenly and quickly. By designing different thicknesses and coatings for each series, the brand responds to a wide range of cooking — from daily stir-fries to simmering and waterless cooking.
A lineup integrally produced from household to professional use
From household frying pans, pots, and pressure cookers, to large-capacity commercial pots and pro-specification series for hotels and restaurants — all integrally produced at the in-house factory. The appeal is the rich variation you can choose by purpose, heat source, and size.
After-sales support for long-term use
Replacement parts and repair support — the post-purchase follow-up system is also in place. Through parts retention for handles and packings and inquiry desks, the brand supports continuing to use favorite tools for as long as possible.
