HIWARASI

HIWARASI is a collaborative online shop created by Mino pottery kilns in Toki City, Gifu Prefecture. The shop opened in January 2021 as a new sales channel that allows multiple local kilns to jointly present and sell their pieces under one brand while shipping directly from the kilns.

On the website, sections titled "Toki Mino yaki kilns", "Messages from the makers", "Direct from the kilns", "Coloring everyday life", and "More than 1,400 items in stock" introduce the strengths of the region. Customers can browse by product category or by individual kiln pages, making it easy to compare different makers' styles within the same site.

Because HIWARASI is run jointly by many kilns, customers can experience a broad cross-section of Mino ware, from simple everyday pieces to richly decorated items, oven-safe dishes, tea and sake ware, flower vases and ceramic figurines. The shop's structure makes it possible to discover new kilns while searching for items that fit specific uses or occasions.

The platform is also linked with local events and projects such as the Dachi Donburi Festival and the "Donburi Hyakusen" selection. HIWARASI was launched as a collaborative project by around twenty Mino pottery kilns located in Toki City. By bringing together the work of multiple kilns on one platform, the shop offers a wide variety of styles, glazes and forms that represent the diversity of Mino ware.
