Brand & Maker Overview

Orange Floral Farm

A natural farm nurturing organic citrus surrounded by sea and flowers — by the forest of Manazuru Peninsula overlooking Sagami Bay.

Orange Floral Farm is an organic orchard spreading right next to the virgin forest "O-Hayashi," near the tip of Manazuru Peninsula in Kanagawa Prefecture. In fields nurtured by the sea breeze blowing through from Sagami Bay and abundant sunlight, the farm cultivates citrus such as lemons and mikan without relying on pesticides, waxes, or fungicides — delivering "safe fruits you can eat down to the peel." Resonating with the slow food philosophy, the farm provides time that connects nature, people, and food through natural and organic field-making, along with lemon picking, mikan picking, garden BBQ "farm to dish," and agricultural experience programs.

Why We Love It

When you want to put lemon — peel and all — into tea or use it in baked goods, you can use this farm's citrus without hesitation. Lemons grown without pesticides or wax in a forest overlooking Sagami Bay — the way the aroma rises the moment you cut them is exceptional! Even if the appearance is a little rough, that's the very proof of nature itself. Citrus full of vitality where even the bitterness of the peel is delicious.

PROFILE About the Company / Workshop

Manazuru-machi, Ashigarashimo-gun, Kanagawa Prefecture. Near the tip of a small peninsula jutting into Sagami Bay, beyond a forest continuing into the virgin forest "O-Hayashi," Orange Floral Farm is located. On this land where sea breezes and abundant sunlight come and go, the farm has continued as an orchard surrounded by lemons, mikan, and seasonal flowers.

Natural and organic cultivation that does not rely on pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, or wax is by no means an easy path. While accumulating steady work such as weeding and pest removal, the farm continues field-making with the thought of "wanting to deliver citrus that families and customers can safely eat down to the peel."

Sympathizing with the philosophy of "nature, people, and food" cherished in Italy — the birthplace of slow food — Orange Floral Farm also wishes to be a place that re-examines the origins of food while respecting the local natural environment and producers. The theme is having visitors experience richness unique to this place — including the Manazuru-specific landscape and port-town life.

Through programs such as lemon picking, mikan picking, agricultural experiences, rental gardens, and harvest festivals at the cooking studio, attempts to have people fully enjoy "from field to table" are expanding. Through BBQ on the wood deck terrace overlooking Sagami Bay and online-only seasonal deliveries, the farm will continue to deliver the flavors of Manazuru — embraced by sea and forest.

An organic orchard at the tip of Manazuru Peninsula, embraced by sea and forest

Orange Floral Farm is an orchard located near the tip of Manazuru Peninsula, beside the forest continuing into the virgin forest "O-Hayashi." Under an open location overlooking Sagami Bay, with breezes from the Pacific Ocean crossing over cliffs, the farm is colored by flowers and citrus of the four seasons.

"Edible to the peel" citrus — without pesticides, fungicides, or wax

The signature products are lemons and mikan grown by repeating daily weeding and hand-picked pest removal — without any use of fungicides, soil improvers, herbicides, or wax. The natural and organic cultivation aims for citrus that families, children, and even babies can safely enjoy down to the peel.

A place connecting "nature, people, and food" — practicing the slow food spirit

Orange Floral Farm sympathizes with the slow food philosophy originating in northern Italy, cherishing "good ingredients," "environmentally friendly production," and "consumption that supports producers." While respecting the natural environment and food culture unique to Manazuru, the farm communicates a rich way of food that connects to the next generation.

Lemon picking, mikan picking, and garden BBQ "farm to dish"

Along with lemon picking and mikan picking that can be enjoyed from mid-November through early spring, the wood deck terrace overlooking Sagami Bay hosts garden BBQ and "farm to dish" lunches. Reservation-based BBQ courses for adults — using the farm's citrus and vegetables, morning-caught fresh fish from Manazuru Port, and carefully selected brand meat — are offered.

Online-only sales and seasonal gift delivery

For people who cannot visit the farm, online-only sets packed with seasonal harvests are sold. Centered on seasonal citrus and organic vegetables, the farm also offers gift wrapping easy to use as presents — delivering the blessings of Manazuru's sea and forest to dining tables nationwide.
