Kutsushita no Mikasa

Starting in the early 1960s as a sock wholesaler in Isogo-ku, Yokohama, the company expanded business through dealings with mass retailers and was incorporated in 1968. It later changed its name to the current "Mikasa Corporation," building a system centered on sock planning, manufacturing, and sales.

From the 1980s onward, the company built its headquarters building, established a new logistics center, and began direct imports of Chinese socks — establishing a supply system that can respond to diverse price ranges and volume zones. Through channels reaching many consumers — including catalog mail order, co-ops, and mass retailers — it has provided socks.

In the 2000s, the company successively obtained ISO9001 at its headquarters, Yokohama Logistics Center, and Nara factory — strengthening quality management including needle-detection and inspection. Combined with continuous investment in knitting machines and equipment, it has refined an integrated manufacturing system from planning to production.

Today, products planned and designed at the Yokohama headquarters are produced at the company's own Nara factory, and developed nationwide through the official online shop, catalog mail order, and mass retailers. With the origin of "giving form to the customer's 'I wish this existed!'" as its starting point, the company continues to propose new value for Japan-made socks — from daily use to gifts.

Items planned and designed at the Yokohama headquarters are produced at the company's own factory in Katsuragi City, Nara Prefecture — known as a major sock-producing area.
