Yamamoto Paper started in 1972 as a comprehensive paper wholesaler in Sakai, Osaka. Working closely with paper makers and businesses, the company has long handled a wide range of paper types. That daily relationship with paper is what makes them attentive to details that shape the writing feel.

In 2005, they began manufacturing and selling original products made with selected paper. In 2009, an old Heidelberg windmill platen letterpress arrived, bringing letterpress printing into their craft.
