As cotton becomes yarn, yarn becomes fabric, and fabric becomes a finished garment, FilMelange keeps the process connected through in-house development. With manufacturing rooted in Japan and ongoing training at its factory, the brand continues to refine everyday staples.

Another signature is the way fabrics are treated as distinct “characters.” Jersey (tenjiku) and fleece-back (urage) bases are developed into specific series, each with its own feel and balance. Once you learn the name of a fabric you love, it is easy to find other items made from the same textile.

HOUSE FilMelange in Motoazabu (Minato-ku, Tokyo) is open 11:00–19:00, with irregular closures on Mondays and Tuesdays. The online shop accepts inquiries on weekdays from 9:30 to 16:00, which helps when you want to confirm sizing or availability.

A name born from thread and nuanced color

“Fil” means thread, and “Melange” refers to mixed tones. FilMelange combines the two to express a brand that starts with the character of yarn and lets comfort grow from the very first step.

In-house development, made in Japan

FilMelange develops its materials and production flow in-house, from choosing cotton to making yarn, knitting fabric, and sewing garments. It also works on training craftspeople at its factory, supporting long-term, consistent manufacturing.

Many items are built around named textiles, making it simple to return to the feel you like. You will see fabric names such as “New Linda Tenjiku,” “Campione Urage,” and “Cashmere Loop Urage” across different silhouettes.
