KINTO
Comfort in the hand, quiet beauty on the table.
Founded in 1972 in Hikone, Shiga, KINTO began as a tableware wholesaler. It later moved into original product planning and development to deliver items that fit the lifestyle it envisioned. Today, KINTO designs tableware, drinkware, and interior items that feel good in hand and look natural on the table. Since 2010, the brand has expanded globally across Europe, North America, Asia, and the Middle East, with KINTO Europe established in 2016 and KINTO USA in 2019.
PROFILE Company & Brand Story
KINTO was founded in 1972 in Hikone, Shiga, starting as a tableware wholesaler. It later began planning and developing original products. Global expansion started in 2010, followed by the establishment of KINTO Europe in 2016 and KINTO USA in 2019. The brand continues to refine everyday tools with an international perspective.
At the core is a balance between comfort and presence. CAST, released in 2008, is heat-resistant glass drinkware named from the idea of assigning the right form and size to each beverage. It feels light in the hand, and its outline sits neatly on the table.
The lineup shifts smoothly between home comfort and outdoor openness. UNITEA was developed in 2006/2007 for easy, casual tea time with glass teaware. SLOW COFFEE STYLE, released in 2014, was created for unhurried hand-drip coffee. KAKOMI, released in 2016, aims to make shared pot meals feel free and everyday rather than seasonal only.
Operationally, the head office in Hikone hosts platform functions, while the Ebisu office in Tokyo supports product development, marketing, and communication. A dedicated logistics center backs shipping for Japan and beyond. The brand has also launched KINTO FARM and started KINTO LOOP in 2024, while personalization is available through MARK IT BY KINTO.
From Hikone to everyday tools
KINTO started in 1972 and evolved from tableware wholesale to original product development. The focus stays consistent: items that fit daily life, spanning tableware, drinkware, and interior pieces.
Series built around scenes
CAST in heat-resistant glass, UNITEA for casual tea time, and SLOW COFFEE STYLE for hand-drip moments. KAKOMI brings the joy of sharing a pot to the everyday table. Each series is designed around how you actually use it.
Designed to move with you
Released in 2017, TRAVEL TUMBLER was KINTO's first vacuum stainless bottle. It was developed to match real lifestyle needs, combining function, quality, and a clean silhouette that makes every commute a little better.
Places and initiatives that grow
With bases in Hikone, Tokyo, and a logistics center, KINTO also expanded overseas with subsidiaries in Europe and the USA. Recent initiatives include KINTO FARM, KINTO LOOP (environmentally conscious materials), and personalization through MARK IT BY KINTO.
