graphzero started in 2004 in Kojima, Kurashiki City — the birthplace of domestic jeans — out of a wish "to create a place that can make true MADE IN JAPAN." Born and raised in a fabric shop, the current head, Tetsuya Suzuki, called on local jeans artisans, and the brand was born from the gathering of professionals in fabric, sewing, dyeing and processing.

From its founding, it has upheld the philosophy of "proposing making from a zero point, from the cotton and dyes that make up the material to the ideas that make up every product." Amid the trend of mass production and mass consumption, by continuing to take on hand processes and original fabric-making that big makers can't make pay, denim with a presence unique to graphzero is born.

In the late 2000s it opened a shop cum workshop in Kojima / the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter, and after factory expansions and a move to new premises, it developed into today's head-office factory and FACTORY SHOP setup. In addition to directly managed stores in the Bikan Quarter and on Kojima Jeans Street, it is expanding its activities at home and abroad — POP-UP sales at department stores nationwide, exhibitions in Europe and more.

Going forward, graphzero will keep pursuing the possibilities of new denim expression and workwear together with Kojima's artisans, without forgetting its origin of "creation from a zero point." Delivering, from Kurashiki to the world, a piece that keeps growing over time while staying close to the wearer's daily life — that is the brand's unchanging mission.

It runs directly managed stores throughout Kurashiki — the head-office factory "LiveFactory" cum FACTORY SHOP in Kojima-Motohama-cho, the "HEART MADE BASE" stores in the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter, and a shop within Kojima Jeans Street. It also puts effort into creating places where you can feel the heat of the site and the artisans' work with all five senses — factory tours, photo spots, POP-UP events at department stores nationwide and more.
