PROFILE About the Company / Workshop

The roots of Minamide Meriyasu Co., Ltd. lie in the Senshu area — known as "the city of yarn and cloth" since the Edo period. The cotton grown supported by land suited to cotton cultivation and rich fertilizers including dried sardines was called "Izumi cotton" — gaining fame nationwide. In this land, processes such as growing cotton, spinning, weaving, and bleaching developed through division of labor — the textile industry was nurtured together with people's lives.

In 1953, founder Noboru Minamide established an underwear sewing factory in postwar reconstruction Japan from the thought of "wanting to deliver clean and comfortable clothes to everyone." Amid difficulties in material control and securing personnel, together with his wife Emiko and colleagues, he steadily polished sewing techniques — gradually growing into a factory supporting the lives of many people.

As the times progressed, clothes changed from mere necessities to presences for self-expression and coloring daily life. In this flow, the factory brand <NARU FACTORY> was born from the desire to combine "techniques as a production area" and "clothing making close to the wearer's heart."

On the brand site, holding up "a Japan-made factory brand making clothes that stay close throughout life," the brand cherishes the techniques of artisans rooted in the Senshu region — from material selection to knitting, sewing, and finishing. Daily clothes that combine comfort and durability adjust feelings each time you put your arm through them — bringing a small uplift. NARU FACTORY will continue to communicate such "clothes that enrich the heart" from Senshu going forward.

A Japan-made factory brand born from Senshu — "the city of yarn and cloth"

Minamide Meriyasu was founded in 1953 in Senshu — the textile production area that has supported the kitchen of the world, Osaka. In this land where a series of processes — growing cotton, spinning, weaving, and bleaching — is rooted, the company started as an underwear sewing factory from the thought of "wanting to deliver clean and comfortable clothes." The brand born against this history and the power of the land is the factory brand <NARU FACTORY>.

Production completed at the own factory and reliable pattern making

NARU FACTORY's clothing making is built on a division of labor system between the own factory and trusted partner factories. From pattern making — which determines silhouette and wearing comfort — to cutting that cuts fabric, to sewing that determines the expression of details, to final inspection and finishing — specialist artisans are assigned at each process. While faithfully forming the designer's images, the brand finishes clothes into three-dimensional pieces comfortable to wear in daily life.

Original material development represented by "STANDARD ITEMS"

On the brand site, NARU's unique STANDARD ITEMS (standard materials) — Soft Frice, Tasmania Lamb, Mura-ito Recycle Tenjiku, Random Rib, 8oz Mura Denim, Delavé Jersey — are introduced in detail. While cherishing the stories of each material and user voices, the brand develops original fabrics that combine softness — fluffy and familiar to skin — with strength to withstand daily washing.

Seasonal collections that light "heart warmth" into daily life

In collections announced each season — holding up themes such as "Heartwarming" — the brand develops lineups that warm the heart even amid busy daily life. Exquisite silhouettes that don't pick up body lines too much, sizes easy to layer, and nuance colors that blend into scenery — details that subtly color the daily life of adult women are embedded throughout.
