PROFILE About the Company / Workshop

Comomg's story begins with a wood pattern town factory that continued for 50 years in the casting town of Kawaguchi. CEO Kazuto Komatsu — while training as a wood pattern craftsman — came to think "I want to use this wood technique for making things for children" — and opened in 2003 as the wooden toy brand "Omocha no Comam." Then — through exhibiting at the international toy fair in Nuremberg and winning on a TV program — grew into a wooden toy maker drawing attention from domestic and overseas.

In 2007 — "Donguri Korokoro" and "Komamu Doll" received GOOD TOY AWARD certification — and in 2011 — performed a total renewal of all lineups. New works like Tuminy and Tapnet were also selected as Good Toys — accumulating numerous certifications and awards: the Kawaguchi i-mono brand, Kawaguchi recommended souvenir, NIPPON OMIYAGE AWARD, and Zenkoku Omiyage Award. In 2016 — incorporated as Omocha no Comam Co., Ltd. — and in 2019 — changed the company name to Comomg Co., Ltd. Currently — expanding business beyond wooden toys to wooden play equipment, furniture, miscellaneous goods, events, and craft classes.

The brand name "Comomg" is a word combining "child + mom (mamu)" and "gu" of life tools. Embedded is the thought of wanting to become a special life tool that can help with the precious time spent together for children, mother-child, and parents-children-family. This thought also runs through not only wooden toys — but also children's furniture, wooden space creation, and projects connecting with regions like "Furusato Donguri."

Since the 2020s — also actively engaging in SDGs and regional contribution — certified as a Saitama Prefecture SDGs Declared Enterprise, a Diverse Workstyle Certified Enterprise, and a Kawaguchi City Regional Contribution Business. With themes of 2030 Vision, diverse workstyles, and regional cooperation — putting the philosophy "for better smiles of children" into concrete action from environmental, social, and workstyle aspects.

The philosophy "for better smiles of children"

Comomg starts from the idea that "for children, play is as important as meals and sleep." Through wooden toys — the trigger that births play and also the tool that nurtures play — conveying the importance of "autonomy," "imagination," and "relationships" — holding the mission of birthing original experiences of emotion. The company name "Comomg" embeds the meaning of "child + mom (mamu)" — a brand aiming to become a "life tool" for the precious time parents and children spend together.
