GANZO

GANZO

Founded in 1917 — premium men's leather goods from Japan, built without compromise.

GANZO is a premium men's leather goods brand operated by AJIOKA Co., Ltd., a leather manufacturer founded in 1917. Built on the concept of "pursuing the genuine article without compromise," GANZO selects world-class leathers — including shell cordovan, bridle leather and French calf — and has Japanese craftspeople execute the cutting, skiving, stitching and edge finishing by hand. The result is leather goods designed to age into something uniquely personal, becoming more beautiful with use.

PROFILE Company & Brand Story

GANZO emerged from AJIOKA Co., Ltd., a leather bag and accessory specialist founded in 1917 that spent decades supplying major Japanese department stores. The GANZO brand was established to bring that accumulated material expertise and craftsmanship to its highest possible expression.

The concept — "pursuing the genuine article without compromise" — applies to every stage: leather selection, component sizing, skiving thickness, stitch pitch, and the finishing of edges (koba). Each of these decisions shapes how the product feels in hand and how it wears over years.

GANZO uses leathers from leading tanneries worldwide: shell cordovan (Japanese domestic and ROCADO, Italy), bridle leather (Thomas Ware, UK), full-grain bridle from Belgium (Masure), Horween Chromexcel (USA), and French calf. Each leather is selected for the specific product and aging character it will develop.

The brand offers wallets (long, bifold, mini, coin-less), bags (briefcases, totes, shoulder bags, backpacks, clutches), card cases, key holders, belts, stationery and golf accessories — all in the same leather families, enabling coordination across categories.

After-sales services include repair, a remake project (transforming existing pieces into new forms) and pattern order (custom specifications on existing models). Direct stores operate in Omotesando, Ginza, Roppongi and Osaka.

Founded 1917: a leather manufacturer turned premium brand

AJIOKA's more than 100 years of experience in leather bag manufacturing give GANZO an unusual depth of material knowledge and production capability. The brand was built to express the highest level of that accumulated expertise.

World-class leathers: cordovan, bridle, French calf and more

GANZO sources from leading tanneries including ROCADO (Italy) for cordovan, Thomas Ware (UK) for bridle leather, Masure (Belgium) for full-grain bridle, and Horween (USA) for Chromexcel. Each leather series develops a distinct aging character with use.

Japanese craftspeople: cutting, skiving, stitching, edge finishing

Japanese craftspeople handle every stage of production — precise cutting to maximize leather, skiving to appropriate thickness, stitching at the right pitch, and meticulous koba (edge) finishing. The attention to internal construction matches what is visible on the surface.

Repair, remake and pattern order: built for long-term ownership

GANZO provides repair services, a remake project (turning existing GANZO pieces into new configurations) and pattern order (custom dimensions on base models). The brand is designed around long-term ownership, not seasonal replacement.
