Iwashita Co., Ltd.'s history began in 1964 with a small sewing factory in Higashiosaka, Osaka. Since founding, the company has specialized in "underwear making for babies" and protected domestic production — accumulating trust over many years in the baby underwear field.

From the 1970s onward, the company established in-house factories in Aso (Kyushu) and Takachiho (Miyazaki), building a system that integrates fabric cutting, sewing, finishing, and inspection in-house. Equipped with diverse sewing machinery and needle-detection equipment, it balanced mass production with quality control, supplying products to domestic and overseas baby goods markets.

In the 2010s, the company launched the Japan-made baby clothing brand PUPO and opened the official online shop. By delivering directly to households nationwide through the online shop, the wish to "have babies grow strong wearing reliable Japan-made underwear" could reach more people.

Today, based at the directly managed shop on the 4th floor of the Higashiosaka headquarters, the brand combines the online shop, EC malls like Rakuten and Amazon, and information sharing via SNS and note — also publishing helpful content for childbirth preparation and gift selection. Going forward, as a Japan-made baby clothing brand close to babies and family life, PUPO will continue delivering commitment to domestic production and gentle wearing comfort.

Centered on basics like short undershirts, combination undershirts, rompers, and pajamas, the brand uses 100% cotton materials — gauze, fraise, smooth, mesh, and pile — chosen by use. Specifications minimizing seam and tag contact, pajamas with deeper rises, and silhouettes considering freedom of movement reflect attention to both comfort and function.

Inside the headquarters building in Higashiosaka, Osaka, a directly managed shop is attached where you can pick up PUPO items by hand. With seasonal displays of baby clothes and care items in a bright sunlit store, a play space for small children and nursing/diaper-changing spaces are also provided. You can touch the same items as the online shop, confirming with your hands while consulting with staff about childbirth preparation or gift selection.
