Mino ware tableware, Hida furniture, Fuyu persimmons, Hida beef, sweetfish, and tea—Gifu is a prefecture equipped with tableware and ingredients born from mountain living. From a Made in Japan-first perspective, it offers the fun of combining and choosing from a single prefecture: from plates and mugs supporting daily meals to tables and chairs you use for a long time, and processed goods packing flavors of the mountain villages.
Mino ware boasts an abundance of tableware active at the daily dining table, easily matching both Japanese and Western dishes, such as plates, bowls, mugs, and soba choko cups. We will introduce them including the personalities of the creators, so you can enjoy choosing while seeing how differences in color, texture, and shape alter the impression of your料理.
Furniture making utilizing the mountain wood of northern Gifu is passed down, such as Hida's chairs and tables known for wood-bending techniques, stools, and small woodwork. We will introduce their respective charms: large furniture through feature articles and interviews, and easy-to-use cutting boards and trays as products.
We will feature foods born from Gifu's mountain villages, such as dried persimmons and sweets utilizing Gifu-originated Fuyu persimmons, Hida beef retort curry and shigureni, sweetened boiled sweetfish, and "Ryu no Hitomi" rice. We focus on lineups easy to choose for both meal side dishes and gifts.
