TCB JEANS is a factory brand based in Kojima, Okayama — often called the sacred place of Japanese denim. The brand takes inspiration from classic American denim from the 1880s to the 1960s, then turns that mood and those details into everyday clothing you can enjoy today. In 2018, the factory was renovated to make the space more open and accessible. The first floor is where cutting, sewing, and finishing happen. The second floor works as a showroom and factory shop. TCB also offers a free factory tour, so you can feel where your jeans are made — right where it all starts.

At the heart of TCB is a clear statement: not only making jeans, but making a good life with a good pair of jeans. By sampling good old American denim and respecting workwear as workwear, TCB translates the era's details into something you can wear comfortably today.
Founder Hajime Inoue moved to Kojima at age 20, learned the fundamentals of sewing at a factory, then built wider experience in the denim industry. When he was 27, he founded a sewing factory under the name "TCB." The name refers to "Taking Care of Business," and also "Two Cats Brand," based on the two cats he kept when the business began.
In 2018, TCB renovated the factory and created a space that follows the production flow: cutting on upper floors, sewing and finishing on the first floor, and a showroom/factory shop on the second floor. A free factory tour is offered, helping visitors see where their jeans are made.
TCB also explains the logic behind its sewing choices — vintage machines, cotton threads, chain-stitch, and puckering — so the craft is not hidden. Hemming is available at purchase or by mail (note: items hemmed cannot be returned or exchanged). Repairs were announced to be temporarily paused from July 31, 2025, with the restart date not yet decided.
Inspired by classic American denim (1880s–1960s)
TCB develops modern daily denim by studying the vibe, mood, and practical spirit of old American workwear. The goal is simple: keep it wearable as a tool, and make it feel good enough to lift your mood when you put it on.
A true factory brand — made and shared by the makers
Founder Hajime Inoue started a sewing factory under the name "TCB." The name carries two meanings: "Taking Care of Business" and "Two Cats Brand." Those two cats still appear as a mascot on TCB patches and labels.
A renovated factory with a free tour (since 2018)
In autumn 2018, TCB renovated the factory to make it more accessible. The 1st floor is the sewing factory, and the 2nd floor is the showroom and factory shop. A free factory tour is available, letting visitors connect directly with where the products are made.
Vintage machines, cotton threads, and the texture of the era
TCB uses vintage sewing machines (including models from the 1940s–1960s) and cotton threads to recreate authentic sewing textures — lapped seams with Union Special 35800G (1950s), chain-stitch waist-belts with Union Special 51800G (1940s), hemming with Union Special 43200G (1940s), and buttonholes with REECE104.
