blueover

Osaka-born, Made-in-Japan sneakers built around a roomy last for everyday walking.

blueover is a footwear brand launched in Osaka in 2011. It was started by shoe designer Hitoshi Watari, with a clear aim: keep making shoes that fit our feet, together with Japanese makers. Rather than chasing trends, the brand focuses on footwear you can rely on for daily walking and long hours on your feet. A key point is its original last shaped for Japanese feet, designed to feel roomy and comfortable. The Osaka flagship store "struct" also offers foot measurement, making it easier to find your size.

PROFILE Company & Brand Story

blueover began in Osaka in 2011. From the start, the brand has positioned itself close to Japanese manufacturing, with designer Hitoshi Watari working alongside local makers. The brand narrative also talks about finding a sustainable path for shoe production skills in Japan, beyond rapid cycles of mass production and disposal.

At its core is the idea of shoes as tools for walking. The brand develops its footwear around an original last shaped for Japanese feet, aiming for comfort and a relaxed fit that works for long days and lots of standing.

blueover also states a preference for using Japan-made materials as much as possible. And because shoes are meant to be worn, not stored, the brand provides clear routes for support — repairs and maintenance guidance, and a partly free size-exchange option under set conditions.

In Osaka, the store "struct" works as an easy entry point. Get your feet measured once, learn your size in the brand's last, and future purchases become far less of a gamble.

SHV3 (SHORTY.V3): roomy fit on the mikey last

SHV3 uses the same last as mikey for a relaxed fit. The upper pattern is designed to soften pressure when lacing up, paired with a cup insole. The chunky outsole has a 25-degree flare angle for extra stability, and the upper uses CORDURA 500 fabric.

MARCO_TS: waterproof leather with a tank sole

MARCO_TS is a smarter-looking model made with waterproof leather. It features a tank sole for grip while keeping weight in mind. The shoe uses a McKay construction, which is noted as a plus for resoling and repairs.

PHOLUS: Goodyear-welt construction for long wear

PHOLUS adopts a Goodyear-welt construction, a classic method where the outsole is stitched to the upper structure. It is designed with future sole replacement in mind, and the upper uses waterproof leather.

Flagship store "struct" in Osaka for fitting

The flagship store "struct" in Kyomachibori, Osaka, is open 12:00–19:00 and closed on Tue/Wed/Thu (open on public holidays). Foot measuring is available, and the staff includes certified shoe fitters.
